Charlotte Lewis, Interview, 1991

This is an image of total sensual liberation, as his model writhes naked in the water. Shooting in black and white, Comte employs the abstract shapes made by the ripples of the water to create a complex and beguiling composition. The shot was originally created for Interview magazine, a publication founded in 1969 by artist Andy Warhol. Lewis is a British actress who has appeared in major Hollywood films including Storyville (1992) and The Golden Child (1986). This portrait was included in Comte’s iconic 2004 book ‘On Women’.
